Description

This is a preview of Dougie Down the Pet, one of twelve chapters on the new canoe film, This is Canoeing by Justine Curgenven. My four-year-old son Doug, Paul Brittian and I, Scott MacGregor publisher of Canoeroots magazine, paddled Algonquin Park's Petawawa River last fall adding a classic whitewater route and this father-son story to my friend Justine's recently released DVD.

I love this video. It is very humbling seeing 3 year old Dougie paddle down the river that not even a month before this film was made, I paddle. I however walked 47km out of the park to the hwy.

I think Scott and his family (just like mine) are lucky to be able to share canoeing with their children.

We should all have a kid in our required canoeing gear!
