Hi,

Don't worry about apologizing. I think there are days that many of us wish we had a motor on ours too. Especially when battling a tough headwind.

Anyways, although I don't have much experience with motors I would make sure your canoe is equipped to handle the more powerful motor. Many canoe manufacturers have specific recommendations in terms of hp.

Once you check in with the canoe manufacturer, I would choose the less noisy one for wildlife viewing.

Anybody have any other experiences or thoughts?

Hi Bradley,

My friend is currently writing an article reviewing a small electric motor for the magazine, Kayak Angler and I thought that this electric motor may work for a canoe as well.

It's the equivalent of a 1hp motor. It's called torqueedo. Check out their website for more information: www.torqeedo.com
