Frank Wolf and his buddy, Taku Hokoyama, paddle together exploring the heart of Northern Canada from Yellowknife to Rankin Inlet. By canoe, they travel 2,000 kilometres toughing-out swarms of mosquitoes, wicked storms and endless daylight in pursuit of a greater understanding of the region and its people.
Close encounters with arctic wolves, caribou, musk-ox are revealed in the film. According to Wolf, “The region contains one of the highest concentrations of land mammals on earth.” He also adds that they made, “the first ever recording of a rare and elusive creature not previously thought to exist in northern Canada.”
Wolf and Hokoyama explore deep into the soul of the region talking with politician, First Nation elders and the people of the region to gain an understanding of the issues that face this fragile place.
The film entitled, “Mammalian” was shot in 1080i HD and is touted to be an engaging, fast-paced, humorous, documentary film to be released in 2010.
