Owner and craftsman of Echo Paddles, Andy Convery is offering paddle building workshops in 2011.

Andy says "It's a bit early, but it would make a great Father's day gift!"
From www.echopaddles.com.
Nothing beats the scent of wood shavings coming off your new paddle on a winter morning. Come out and work in our off grid, straw bale workshop and make a canoe paddle for your adventures this summer!
What to bring:
Bring your lunch, your creative ideas for a paddle- solid wood or laminate, some experienced work clothes and your keen interest in turning a block of wood into a beautiful work of art for your craft. If you have any hand tools- planes, spoke shaves, rasps- that you wish to use then bring those too.
What we provide:
We will provide all the tools and materials you will need to design, build and carve a solid wood or laminate paddle. You will leave with a paddle that is finish ready along with the necessary information for finishing your paddle. You will be guided through wood and design/style choices with the pros and cons of each choice, while learning some of the history and background of each paddle design.
Contact Andy at aconvery@echopaddles.com for pricing and to take part in his paddle building workshops or visit www.echopaddles.com.
