ORCKA Rendezvous Weekend
Written by Neil Wright Tuesday, 07 September 2010 00:00
ORCKA’s 18th annual general meeting and paddling weekend will take place on Friday September 24th to the 26th at Camp Pinecrest near Gravenhurst, Ontario.

For those who don’t know ORCKA stands for the Ontario Recreational Canoe and Kayak Association. This year they will be offering a two day Canoe Trippers’ Symposium and Voyageur Clinic in addition to Canoeing and Kayaking Instructors’ Recertification Clinics on Sunday!
For those who are staying over Saturday night bring your favourite piece of kit or equipment to tell everyone why it's the best, and where to purchase it or how to make it. Participants are also encouraged to tell a story preferably based on the premise of "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger or gives you great stories."

Other things that should be on your packing list perhaps a favourite recipe from the great outdoors with a small sample for all to try and music is always a big hit. Bring your favourite canoe tripping instrument to perform for the group or to share in a sing along.

And of course don’t forget to bring canoes, kayaks, tripping gear and friends. If you don’t have one to bring, no worries, canoes and kayaks are available at no cost on site.
Paddle with the experts and learn. Members can register on the Member page. Non-members can register by calling the ORCKA office at 416.426.7016.
