Pay Nothing for Valentine's

valentinesday

There are plenty of ways to say you care without breaking the bank! So go outside and get creative this Valentine’s Day!

Rather than relying on old standbys traditions—flowers, chocolates and cards—tell your sweetheart you care and give them a more endearing gift—quality time spent outdoors. Here are some ideas that are sure to warm their heart.

1) Go for a winter picnic

Pack a romantic dinner for two and go to your favourite park. Bring a warm wool blanket and some insulated pads to sit on. Talk, enjoy the stars and sip on some dark chocolate cocoa.

2) Write “I LOVE YOU” in the snow

And do it in the front yard to show everyone you care. When they look out the window, they are bound to feel appreciated.

3) Go canoeing

And face each other. Don’t worry about paddling technique and it doesn’t matter if you make any distance. Just spend time enjoying each other’s company and watch the snow fall.

4) Hike to a lookout

Watch the sunset.

5) Sleep in an igloo

If you don’t have any time to make an igloo, set up your tent in the backyard. Spread out your sleeping bags, lots of blankets and some hot water bottles. Remember, body-to-body contact is a great way to stay warm.
