Great Journey, Great Cause

In June 2011 Nick Hunter and his team Nick Newell, Dazza and Tom Raper will be canoeing the Yukon River in Canada and Alaska to raise funds for charity's Help for Heroes and Marie Curie Cancer Care.

The trip will take the team into some of the most remote and rugged wilderness in the world it has been estimated to take the team up to 60 days to complete.

Although they will be taking supplies with them they will also be living off the land using survival training and bush craft skills attained during their pre-trip training.

The trip will be documented on film by the official partners of the project Triple A Multimedia Group www.triple-a.uk.com and producer Terry Armstrong in preparation for the production of a full length television documentary / film.

The journey will start from Atlin in Canada, the team will negotiate the river for some 3185km to Alakanuk, a remote town in Alaska by the Bering Sea.

On the Canadian side of the trip it will be possible to invite people to join the team for stages of the journey.

To go with the theme of Help for Heros Ex service men and women would be encouraged to join the team during these legs of the trip.

Sponsors who are involved in the project will also be invited to join the final stretch which will be televised.

The team will also be carrying trackers which will be linked to the website to keep everybody informed on the progress of the trip.
