Ok…so you don’t have to spend hours blowing-up this canoe. According to Incept, the creators of the Explorer C42T and C52Q, their heavy-duty inflatable canoes take only minutes to inflate.

Designed for multi-day lakewater travel as well as Class 3 rapids, these canoes travel easy. “An Incept inflatable canoe has no need for vehicle roof racks, does not make storage problems, and travels as baggage on public transport and small aircraft,” explains the New Zealand-based company, who opened-up their business in North America with a distribution centre in the whitewater region of Ogden, Utah.

The Explorer canoes can hold anywhere from 3 to 4 people and still provides plenty of room for extra canoe packs and barrels with a capacity of 600-800 lbs. Very stable, these canoes measure from 14 to 18 feet in length and come with a variety of optional accessories from 2-horsepower motor brackets to self-bailers.
As an aside, I can see inflatable canoes being a great alternative for the urban dweller or world-traveler in terms of ease transportation and space. Are there any other reasons canoeists would prefer an inflatable?
