Campfire Favourites: Banana Boat Dessert

Want to do something a little different than s’mores this year? Try banana boats. These are simple to make with your family and a dessert everyone will love.

Banana boats are a great dessert because your whole family can customize their own. I’ve included of the basic ingredients you need as well as ones you will definitely want to add.

Ingredients:

  1. One banana per person
  2. Chocolate chips
  3. Marshmallows
  4. Heavy-duty aluminum foil wrap

Optional ingredients:

  1. white or butter scotch chocolate chips
  2. peanut butter
  3. walnuts or other nuts
  4. caramel sauce

Directions:

  1. Cut down the length of a banana but make sure to keep the outside skin intact.
  2. Fill opening with custom toppings.
  3. Wrap the banana boat in heavy-duty aluminum foil.
  4. Place banana boat around the edge of the fire and make sure it doesn’t come in contact with the flames or it will burn.
  5. Cook for 8 minutes. Let the banana boat cool down before opening the aluminum.
  6. Eat and enjoy!
