The polls have closed, the votes are in and Canada has spoken! Big Wild Bucks, our conservation granting contest, has ended and after 15,000 votes, three winners have emerged.

Coming in at first place is Nova Scotia's Ecology Action Centre. The centre will put their $5,000 prize money toward mobilizing a large and diverse coalition to speak up for Nova Scotia’s coast. They also plan to host two regional forums to achieve consensus around a provincial Coastal Act.

In second place is Ontario's Burlington Community Centre who will put their $3,000 prize money toward improving fish migration in two creeks, removing trash from five streams and planting 250 trees to make their local waterways cleaner and healthier.

British Columbia's North West Watch Society won third place and $2,000 which they will use to help protect Northern BC's Sacred Headwaters, one of North America's largest predator-prey ecosystems and traditional territory of the Tahltan First Nation.
