A long tradition of canoeing royalty continues

For at least 160 years there has been many traditions involving Royalty and Canoes and  the recent royal wedding between Will and Kate (and subsqent honeymoon trip to Canada) keeps the Royal gunwhales bobbing.

"HRH Prince Andrew, the Duke of York, who was introduced to canoe tripping while a student at Ontario's Lakefield College School in 1977.  The Duke was so enamored of paddling that he was given a classic Walter Walker cedarstrip canoe by the Village of Lakefield in 1978 and has since returned to North America repeatedly to venture north with his Lakefield cronies.  Coppermine, Hanbury, Keele, Indian, Otonabee -- he has an enviable river resume."
